Camps and Clinics
(back to Front Page)
TJC Apache coaches and players are involved in camps and clinics throughout the
year to help players and coaches of all ages to understand and enjoy our nation's
pastime.
APACHE BASEBALL
SUMMER CAMPS
The focus of our SUMMER camps are on teaching and enjoying the game to the players of all ages.   This
summer, TJC will offer separate sessions of baseball camp that teach baseball fundamentals including
throwing, hitting, fielding, and baserunning.  The
Minor League Camp(ages 6-8) will focus on the basic skills
and beginning experiences of a ballplayer.  The
Big League Camp (ages 9-14) will focus on age appropriate
skills and drills for players at all levels.  Apache camps also teach lessons in life through the game.  Camps
include station work in all areas of the game and will include some scrimmage time to apply much of the
fundamental teaching that is taking place.  The scrimmage time is also a time to focus on strategies of the
game and emphasize what healthy competition looks like in a game setting.  Apache coaches and players lead
drill stations and scrimmage time to provide a quality experience that players of all skill levels can benefit from.

The Apache Winter Camps have sessions with two different types of emphasis.  The General Skills Camp focus
is on the basics of the game including hitting, fielding, throwing and baserunning.  The fundamental skills of
each area will be stressed and drills in each phase will be taught and performed.
The Pitching / Catching
Camp
focus is on the skills and drills important to elevate the level of play at those two positions.  The entire
pitching process will be emphasized including proper mechanics as well as a high level shoulder conditioning
program for pitchers to implement year round.  The level of instruction for both of these camps is outstanding.
The Apache Coaching Staff, which includes 20 year college coach and former professional player,
